As a Met fan, I've been going to Opening Day since 1995. Back then it was easy to get tickets. We would just drive to Shea, walk up to the ticket window and buy our tickets right before going into the stadium.
Every passing year it became harder and harder to get tickets for the Home Opener. And now they have this lottery system so I haven't been able to pay face value for Opening Day tickets or the Mets vs. Yankees series for years.
As an alternative, I found that I got the best deals from StubHub
and eBay!
There are also other links to ticket vendors on the right side of the page. I paid more than face value for these tickets but it is definitely worth it when I get to Shea on Opening Day and I hear 50,000 Mets fans scream LETS GO METS!!!
